The Koperattiva Produtturi taz-Zebbug Limited held a meeting with the Malta Food Agency on Friday 28th June, 2024. The Cooperative was represented by Jimmy Magro, President and Roderick Desira, Secretary. The Malta Food Agency was represented by Brian Vella, CEO, Justin Camilleri, Chief Commercial Officer and Luke Stivala, Senior Marketing Executive.
The Malta Food Agency presented a copy of the Report entitled: A Research into the Opportunities and Challenges to Support the Olive and Olive Oil Sector in Malta and Gozo. Both parties agreed to organise a conference to disseminate the conclusions of the report to all stakeholders.
Following the meeting, the Cooperative submitted proposals in connection with:
(a) The Mediterranean Olive Harvest Festival
(b) The Mediterranean Diet Campaign
(c) Cooperation with Project Green
(d) The National Olive Oil Festival
(e) Request for Financial Support for the Organic Cultivation project under Measure 3.2.
The Cooperative looks forward to more cooperation between the two sides in order to ensure more progress for the olive and the olive oil sector.
